Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 14, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 14, 2026

CamGrader is an offline-first grading app designed for teachers. This policy explains what data the app collects, where it is stored, and how it is used. We keep things simple: your classroom data stays on your device.

1. Data You Enter

When you use CamGrader you create tests, scan answer sheets, and the app records the following on your device:

All of this data is stored exclusively on your device using a local SQLite database. It is never transmitted to our servers, never uploaded to the cloud, and never shared with any third party. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data permanently.

2. Analytics and Crash Reporting

CamGrader uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google. These services collect anonymized, non-personally-identifiable information to help us understand how the app is used and to detect crashes:

Firebase data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can review Firebase's data practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

3. Student Data

CamGrader reads numeric student ID numbers from printed bubble grids on answer sheets. These IDs are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted externally. No student names, photos, or other personal information are collected by the app. As the teacher using the app, you are responsible for ensuring your use of student ID data complies with applicable regulations in your jurisdiction, including FERPA in the United States.

4. Permissions

CamGrader requests the following device permissions:

5. Data Export and Backup

CamGrader includes an optional Export feature that lets you save a backup of your tests and results as a JSON file. This file is generated on your device and shared only through your device's standard share sheet. You choose where it goes (Files, email, cloud storage, etc.). We do not receive a copy of any exported file.

6. Children's Privacy

CamGrader is intended for use by teachers and educational professionals. The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app adds new features. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
