Terms of Service

Effective date: June 14, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 5, 2026

By downloading or using CamGrader, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Use of the App

CamGrader is licensed to you for personal, educational, and professional use. You may use the app to grade tests and assessments for classes you teach or administer. You may not resell, sublicense, or distribute the app or its output for commercial purposes without our written permission.

2. Service Tiers and Usage Limits

CamGrader offers three tiers of access, each with its own limits. If you use the app without creating an account (Guest Mode), you get a one time trial of 25 scans within a 7 day period. This trial is tracked at the device level, using tools like Apple's DeviceCheck and Google's Play Integrity API, so that reinstalling the app does not grant a new trial. If you create an account but do not subscribe, you get 50 scans per calendar month, tracked against your account. Paid subscribers have unlimited scans for the duration of their active subscription.

Because CamGrader can be used without an internet connection, your device must check in with our servers periodically (at least once every 7 days, or every 25 scans, whichever comes first) to confirm your usage tier and remaining allowance. If your device stays offline longer than this, scanning will pause until you reconnect. Attempting to circumvent these limits, including by reinstalling the app, using multiple devices or accounts to exceed a single tier's allowance, or interfering with device level usage checks, is a violation of these Terms.

3. Accounts and Subscriptions

Some features of CamGrader require a paid subscription. Accounts are created directly in the app using your email address; a one-time code is sent to verify your identity. Subscriptions are billed by K2 Labs through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. Your card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. To manage or cancel your subscription, visit the billing portal or contact us at [email protected]. Your access will continue until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. Prices shown do not include applicable sales tax, VAT, or similar charges, which may be calculated and added at checkout based on your billing location, in accordance with local tax law.

A paid subscription is licensed for use on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device will sign you out of, and revoke access on, any previously active device. Frequent or repeated device switching may be treated as a violation of this fair use policy and can result in account suspension.

4. Cloud Backup, Sync, and Data Restore

Cloud backup and sync are available to paid subscribers only. If you are signed in but not subscribed, your scan usage is tracked on our servers, but your test, student, and result data is not backed up to the cloud and cannot be restored if lost from your device.

When a subscriber signs in on a device that does not already have their data (a new install, or a device switch under the one device policy in Section 3), CamGrader performs a one time restore of your data from our servers to that device. This is not continuous two way sync: your device holds the primary copy of your data locally, and changes are pushed to the cloud for backup and restore purposes only. If a different account's data is already present on a device, you will be offered the option to export that data before it is removed from the device (this removal is local only and does not affect that account's own cloud backup), and your data is then restored automatically.

If your device is offline when you delete a test, student, or result, the deletion is applied to your local data immediately and to your cloud backup automatically the next time your device reconnects. Until that sync completes, the deleted data may still exist in our systems, though it remains private to your account in the meantime.

5. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data from CamGrader's servers, including tests, student results, and scan images. This action cannot be undone. To request deletion by email, contact [email protected].

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for all data you enter into CamGrader, including student ID numbers and test results. You must ensure your use of student data complies with all applicable laws, including FERPA in the United States and equivalent regulations in your jurisdiction. CamGrader is a tool. You remain responsible for how you collect, store, and share any student information.

Before using CamGrader, you are required to confirm that you are authorized to share student data with us. If you are based in the United States, you confirm that one of the following applies: your school has a Directory Information exemption on file under FERPA, you qualify as a School Official under your school's policy, or you have obtained written parental consent. If you are based outside the United States, you confirm that you are authorized under your country's student-privacy laws to share this data with CamGrader. This confirmation is a representation you make to us, not a determination we make on your behalf.

7. Intellectual Property

CamGrader and all associated software, design, and content are owned by K2 Labs and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The answer sheet templates and key generator tool are provided for your personal classroom use only.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

CamGrader is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or accurate in all grading situations. Always review scan results for accuracy before recording grades.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, K2 Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of CamGrader, including but not limited to grading errors, data loss, or missed academic deadlines.

This limitation of liability applies in full to any outage, data loss, security incident, or breach involving our third-party service providers (including but not limited to our hosting, payment processing, email, analytics, and error-tracking providers), regardless of cause. In no event shall K2 Labs' total liability to you for any claim relating to your use of CamGrader exceed the total amount you paid K2 Labs in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App Store update notes or in-app notice. Continued use of CamGrader after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which K2 Labs operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
